The post is permanent and full-time. Staffing is intended at 1st March, 2022 earliest.

YOUR ROLE

You will represent the science of social work in teaching and research, especially the area of social work, including in wider social contexts. You will be expected to teach in the degree programmes in the Department of Social Work. In this respect, your focus will be on the field of social work, in particular on
•  Imparting theoretical, conceptual and methodological knowledge in the field of
   community work/community development and work with groups and organisations  
   (Macro Practice).

In the scope of competence-oriented teaching, we focus on activating and interactive teaching and learning formats which are both analogue and digital. You will work with colleagues to (further) develop cooperative teaching concepts.

YOUR PROFILE

You hold a degree in social work and/or the social or educational sciences, you have a relevant doctorate, professional experience in the key fields of social work, as well as teaching experience and a good knowledge of English.

Interest and expertise in the theories and approaches of social work in a global world, as well as experience in the acquisition and implementation of research projects, are also desirable.

We are seeking a diversity-aware candidate with good team working skills, who contributes to the development of the international profile of the department. We expect an open approach to different cultures.

INFORMATION

For appointment as a professor, as well as the general staff requirements, the appointment requirements in accordance with Section 15 Para. 1-6 of the Hamburg Higher Education Act (HmbHG) also apply. These can be read on our website.

This includes the willingness to participate in the self-administration committees of the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences as well as a choice of residence in proximity to the university.

The denomination of the vacant post is under the caveat of assessment at appropriate intervals in accordance with Section 12 Para 7 HmbHG.

As well as the basic salary of grade W2 and basic performance benefits, a provision of appointment performance benefits is also possible which can be negotiated with the university president. In addition, there is also the possibility of granting a bonus from third-party funds.

Candidates who have not yet reached the age of 50 at the time of appointment may be appointed as tenured officials, otherwise the employment relationship is that of a standard employee.
