The successful candidate will be responsible for basic and applied environmental process engineering in the Environmental Engineering Bachelor at the Faculty of Life Sciences, including thermodynamics and fluid mechanics/heat transfer. These subjects are central to the curriculum and a prerequisite for the advanced environmental risk assessment, technical environmental protection and renewable energy courses. Candidates should also be prepared to teach thermodynamics and fluid mechanics/heat transfer at other departments in the Faculty. The successful candidate will also cover applied subjects such as recycling/waste management, technical environmental protection or life cycle assess-ment/climate impact modelling in line with his or her profile.

Involvement in the “Applied Life Science Technologies and Environmental Research - FTZ ALSTER” Research and Transfer Centre as regards topics from the field of environmental engineering, or potentially the “Competence Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency - CC4E” for heat engineering, is also possible. The development of more partnerships with companies and institutions or projects with international partners in the field is desirable.

We are seeking an individual from the field of process engineering, environmental engineering or related disciplines in the engineering sciences, who has relevant professional experience, a strong environmental engineering profile and in-depth knowledge of one of the practical environmental engineering fields listed above.
